A trench symbolizes the need for protection. The dreamer feels set upon by people or events that they cannot control and is looking to defend their self. In any case, it is not a negative dream because it indicates that you have not tired in the face of the danger, and there is the intention to act against it. The dreamer could come out well from a turbulent situation.

Walking along the edge of a trench indicates the fear of being in a dangerous situation that is out of control. It can be interpreted as a warning of caution to the dreamer against her current difficulties. Falling into it indicates loss of control over your issues.
Deliberately jumping into it is a sign of bravery and courage in the face of the unknown.

Dreaming of a trench is generally a bad omen. It portends dangers, misery, and an unhappy marriage.
